Lupe Fiasco "Lasers" Concept Series: Never Forget You

It feels good to be done with this series. It was a huge undertaking but it was worthwhile. Lupe Fiasco is an artist that I have a lot of respect for. I've seen him perform live and met him a few times as well. I wanted to create a body of work about how I interpreted this album. This painting was another one that was difficult to conceptualize. The idea did not come right away. I had to sit down and really think of the message. I ended up illustrating the Chicago skyline to represent his upbringing and memories of his father. The painting I did for "Letting Go" was abstract so it seemed appropriate to finish the series with an abstract.
