Recently at work I participated in a poetry event called Poetry Idol. The kids in Room 116 and 105 had been learning about different poets and their work for a while now. This past Friday was the culmination. A select group of students from each class read their poems aloud. Some were original too. I was one of the three judges. (ala American Idol.) It was a very fun event for everyone involved. The kids showed alot of courage reading in front of their respective classes. It's very admirable. I even designed the logos for the contest as well. I just freehanded it in the style of American Idol.
