This painting is the spiritual successor to my "Brushes" Chrysler Building painting. While that illustration was very painterly this one is precise and calculated. I started by laying down a light blue rough sketch. Next I filled the layer under it with color and detail. The top sketch layer preserved the form of the buildings. After the details were added I got rid of the top layer and that was my painting. This is definitely my new favorite in the series.
