I meant to paint this before the holidays but ArtRage @t The Grove is paramount right now. Still it's good to take on a project here and there. Every year New Haven puts up a Christmas Tree on The Green. I walked by it one night and took some photos from my iPhone that I could use as reference later.
I really liked how the branches where practically invisible. The lights created the tree shape. I knew it would make for an interesting painting. Like my Bar 4 painting I had to think about shapes differently because of the lack of daylight. All those lights took an eternity but layers come in handy.
