It's been some time since I've worked on this series. I getting down to the last few tracks of the album though. I knew from the start that I wouldn't be painting Lupe in this piece. In the song he talks about a girl growing up in the hood and how he wants her to be successful. I used that as a starting point. Just like my Steve Jobs painting I used the techniques I learned from David Kassan's Masterclass. I didn't sketch and I just went right to painting. Even better I painted this entirely with my Nomad Brush. Part of the fun with iPad painting is challenging myself and taking calculated risks. One way or another it pays off.
