I painted this from a photo I took a Grand Central. I wanted to capture the feeling of having a great time in the big city and being a little melancholy that I had to leave. This was right after Mobile Art Con had ended. In this Brushes painting I tried to apply some of the techniques that I learned from David Kassan. I wanted to block everything in quickly and not get bogged down by details. I think I prefer my landscapes to be more fluid but my portraits to be refined and blended. I really like the painterly look I achieved with this one.
